ABOUT THE PRIVACY POLICY

The Privacy Policy of CCI/CEBRAP informs about how the personal data held by the institution is collected, how it is used, and the rights of its holders, in accordance with Law 13.709 of August 14, 2018, the General Data Protection Law.

This Privacy Policy is intended for the public that accesses and registers on virtual environments under the responsibility of CCI/CEBRAP (websites, social networks, etc.) and should be read carefully. Its content may eventually be updated. When this happens, registered users will be notified via email.

SCOPE

The Privacy Policy applies to the CCI/CEBRAP website and social networks. Navigation on these platforms and virtual environments may lead to links to third-party sites. Upon accessing these links, the user will leave the coverage sphere of this Privacy Policy. As CCI/CEBRAP does not monitor or control information collected by third-party sites, nor their privacy policies, it is not appropriate to assume responsibility for the content and practices of these organizations and their instruments.

WHAT INFORMATION IS COLLECTED AND HOW IT IS USED

In this policy, “personal information” or “personal data” means information related to an identified or identifiable natural person. In the case of the CCI/CEBRAP website or social networks, these are the information provided to fill out any type of registration or form.

When choosing to register on CCI/CEBRAP’s virtual instruments to use the institution’s services or to receive updates (mailing), fill out forms or related procedures, contact information may be requested (name, address, personal documents, phone number, email address). CCI/CEBRAP will only use this information to provide the requested services.

The collection of information is based on Article 7, items I (consent), IV (research) and V (contract execution) for general personal data processing, and on Article 11, items I (consent) and II, paragraphs “c” (research studies by research body) and “d” (contract execution) for sensitive personal data processing, both from the General Data Protection Law – LGPD.

CCI/CEBRAP may use your contact information to send dissemination of works, projects and events, provided that consent is obtained. If you do not wish to receive this informative material continuously, any person or organization can request the removal of their contact by clicking the “unsubscribe” or “cancel receipt” option at the end of each marketing email.

CCI/CEBRAP may request demographic information (such as location, for example) to understand needs and interests and to offer a more personalized experience on the website, sending more targeted offers, subject to user preferences, if cookie collection is accepted. This is because the CCI/CEBRAP website and social networks may automatically collect technical information about visits (such as browser type used, internet service provider, platform type, internet protocol addresses (IP), reference/exit pages, operating system, date/time marking). CCI/CEBRAP retains this information in reports to analyze trends, diagnose server problems and to administer the website and social networks, aiming to track its movement and type of use. Please consult “Cookies and Other Digital Markers” below for more information.

By force of law, CCI/CEBRAP may be obliged to share information with third parties, but only if it receives a court order, subpoena or warrant. In addition, the LGPD also authorizes voluntarily providing information to assist in law enforcement investigations or when disclosure is necessary to protect systems, businesses or the rights of the institution or third parties.

INFORMATION SHARING (NATIONAL TRANSFERS)

CCI/CEBRAP maintains contracts with service providers and outsourced suppliers to offer products, services and complementary solutions to its own, in order to improve the experience of those using its digital platforms. Even so, personal data is only transferred to third parties with the exclusive purpose of providing services contracted by users of these virtual environments, and with express consent. In this case, the recipients of the personal data in question will be requested to protect them using administrative, technical and security procedures, even if they are also subject to Brazilian data protection legislation. Any person or organization can opt out of receiving communications from CCI/CEBRAP by email by clicking the “unsubscribe” or “cancel receipt” option at the end of each email.

COOKIES AND OTHER DIGITAL MARKERS

Cookies and digital markers are small text files that can be stored on the hard drive/HD of CCI/CEBRAP site users or embedded in site pages. They allow user identification and tracking of their site visit. For example, when a form is filled out or when enrolling in courses, cookies are used in the payment and reservation process. CCI/CEBRAP may use its own or third-party services to collect and process personal information through the use of cookies and other digital markers. Cookie usage can be disabled by the user by changing settings in the preferences menu or browser options. By choosing to disable cookies, access to certain areas of the site may be restricted.

CHILDREN’S PRIVACY

CCI/CEBRAP does not intentionally collect information from people under 13 years of age and does not target children under 13 on its websites. This will only happen if, by chance, the child lies about their age. CCI/CEBRAP is committed to protecting children’s and adolescents’ privacy and encourages parents and guardians to play an active role in their children’s online interests and activities.

CANCELLATION

If any person or organization no longer wants communications from CCI/CEBRAP, they can cancel receipt by clicking the “unsubscribe” or “cancel receipt” option at the end of each email or by contacting cci[at]cci-cebrap.org.br.

ACCESS AND ACCURACY OF INFORMATION AND OTHER RIGHTS

Brazilian data protection legislation guarantees any person or organization the right to: request, at any time, a copy of their personal information; ask to correct, delete, restrict or interrupt any active processing of their personal data, and obtain the personal data provided for a contract or with their consent, and ask to share (transfer) these data with another data controller; object to the processing of their personal information in some circumstances (specifically when it is not necessary to process the data to meet a contractual or other legal requirement, or when using the data for direct communication).

These rights may be limited, for example, if fulfilling a request reveals personal data about another person or violates the privacy rights of others, or if deletion of information that CCI/CEBRAP is required to maintain or about which the institution has legitimate interests in maintaining is requested. To exercise any of these rights, simply contact cci[at]cci-cebrap.org.br. If there are unresolved concerns, a complaint to the National Data Protection Authority can be made at any time.

KEEPING YOUR INFORMATION SAFE

All precautions and updates are assured within the CCI/CEBRAP control environment. However, undesirable situations related to traffic or storage through our site may occur.

CCI/CEBRAP follows the most rigorous technical standards, both during transmission and after reception. When confidential information (such as personal data) is typed into registration or order forms, this information is encrypted using secure technology (secured socket layer). Even though the most renowned market technologies are used, there is always a risk in data transmission over the Internet.

CCI/CEBRAP will maintain your data for a maximum of ten years (unless a different request is made before this period), being responsible for maintaining security, technical and administrative measures capable of protecting personal data from unauthorized access and accidental or illicit situations of destruction, loss, alteration, communication or any form of inappropriate or illicit treatment.

In accordance with art. 48 of Law No. 13.709, CEBRAP will communicate to the Data Subject and the National Data Protection Authority (ANPD) the occurrence of a security incident that may cause relevant risk or damage to the Data Subject.
