The ecological transition is already a reality. However, there is no guarantee that its final outcome will avoid increasing inequalities, especially considering the development of two of its strategic vectors: the energy transition and the transition of agro-food systems. To propose alternative scenarios, it is crucial to emphasize the interdependencies between the environment and inequalities by investigating the arenas where the rules guiding the ecological transition in the energy and agro-food sectors are being defined. Thus, this line of research will map actors, coalitions, repertoires of action, and the economic, political, sociocultural, and ecological bases of the disputes related to the ecological transition in Brazil, considering territorial, gender, and generational dimensions.
