Call for Applications: Selection Process for the 2026 Researcher Training Program
The Center for Critical Imagination: Political Economy and Citizenship (CCI/Cebrap) is headquartered at the Brazilian Center for Analysis and Planning (Cebrap) in the city of São Paulo, a private non-profit institution. As a member of the Emergent Political Economies (EPE) network, CCI is dedicated to investigating neoliberalism with a view to developing post-neoliberal paradigms. Its research focuses on structural changes in citizenship and political economy before, during, and after neoliberalism, taking Brazil as a privileged case for critically diagnosing current global trends.
In 2026, CCI will run the Researcher Training Program (PFP) for researchers who have obtained a master’s degree in the last three years and intend to apply for doctoral program selection processes in different areas of the humanities.
Objective of the Researcher Training Program
The Researcher Training Program has a dual objective. The first is to provide support so that master’s-level researchers who wish to develop doctoral research on topics aligned with CCI’s agenda can mature their research questions and develop original approaches, with the aim of producing research projects that strengthen their applications in doctoral graduate selection processes.
Secondly, the Program aims to train master’s-level researchers in fundamental research competencies, to be applied not only in the development of the doctoral project but also throughout their academic career.
Eight (8) master’s-level researchers will be selected to participate in the Program, according to the requirements described in this call for applications. The Program will consist of classes, debates, events, and mentoring meetings that will take place in person at Cebrap in São Paulo, between June and December 2026.
